The Basketball Tournament Prediction Extravaganza is a nationwide prediction competition between basketball fans based upon the Annual Men's College Basketball Tournament. We feel the clean family humor, salty wit and sarcasm, and interesting year-to-year statistics make the 'Ganza, as we affectionately call it, one of the most enjoyable tournament contests on the Internet. We hope you join us and come to the same conclusion.

Although the format is similar to an office "pool," the Extravaganza is NOT a pool -- no prize money is awarded! In fact, our slogan is "This Ain't No Pool!" The prognosticator who scores the most points in the 'Ganza is awarded the
Coveted Ostertag Plaque, one of the finest examples of laminated pressboard available and easily the most talked about sports award in my house. The Ostertag Plaque has often been mentioned in the same sentence as the Lombardi Trophy and the Stanley Cup. Especially if you read the previous sentence out loud.

Yum Yum

Oh yeah! College hoops are baaaaack! Pooh bah has awakened from his Summer/fall web sabbat. (that would be "rest" for you non-cultural progo types). I, the Director, have been watching games and preparing for my pre-Christmas picks. That's right Ganza fans, the Director throws down some picks for you all to measure up against. It is, of course, with the permission of the Benevolent One. The Deputy Benevolent is getting his bracket software brain synapses-a-poppin. It will, as usual be a banner year for the Ganza. Can you smell it all the way from December? Yes, that's March and it smells deeeelish!

Wow, with a blog you start to work early for the Ganza. Been watching games too, but too early for many predictions. Had a call tonight from a friend that he has an extra ticket for the KU game tomorrow night. My better half will be going. Not me. Are you jealous?
