Well, well, here we are at the Sweet 16. A few major surprises; Davidson, 'Nova, Western Kentucky, and West Virgina...and maybe a bit of s surprise, all the number 1's are still in.
We are getting closer to crowning a new Ostertag hoister. Our current leader, Kingsley Bailey, a neighbor from beautiful British Columbia, will have his name on the leader board through Wednesday. With Duke being his champ, it doesn't look like Mr. Bailey will be there very long. Jake Kubik, from the Pooh-bah's favorite football state of Nebraska, is right there sharing the lead with Kingsley. However, his Davidson pick to win it all could come crumbling down, as Mr. Flowers from Wisconsin is a defensive specialist and will most likely put the clamp on Mr. Curry from Davidson.
Ahh, but stranger things have happened in the Ganza...
The Basketball Tournament Prediction Extravaganza is a nationwide prediction competition between basketball fans based upon the Annual Men's College Basketball Tournament. We feel the clean family humor, salty wit and sarcasm, and interesting year-to-year statistics make the 'Ganza, as we affectionately call it, one of the most enjoyable tournament contests on the Internet. We hope you join us and come to the same conclusion.
Although the format is similar to an office "pool," the Extravaganza is NOT a pool -- no prize money is awarded! In fact, our slogan is "This Ain't No Pool!" The prognosticator who scores the most points in the 'Ganza is awarded the Coveted Ostertag Plaque, one of the finest examples of laminated pressboard available and easily the most talked about sports award in my house. The Ostertag Plaque has often been mentioned in the same sentence as the Lombardi Trophy and the Stanley Cup. Especially if you read the previous sentence out loud.

props to the deputy or whoever the genius was that reformatted how one views his or her picks on the website.
This was the Deputy's doing. He thought it up all by his little deputy sized self. Pooh likes it too, and will reward the Deputy handsomely.
Have to agree with Michael. I like the new view of picks, etc. It is easier to understand.
Did anyone other than me notice who has the most potential points going into the sweet 16?
I did Jon -- Mr. Gowin of Kentucky does (96). Any other interesting stats you want to bring up?? :)
