The Basketball Tournament Prediction Extravaganza is a nationwide prediction competition between basketball fans based upon the Annual Men's College Basketball Tournament. We feel the clean family humor, salty wit and sarcasm, and interesting year-to-year statistics make the 'Ganza, as we affectionately call it, one of the most enjoyable tournament contests on the Internet. We hope you join us and come to the same conclusion.

Although the format is similar to an office "pool," the Extravaganza is NOT a pool -- no prize money is awarded! In fact, our slogan is "This Ain't No Pool!" The prognosticator who scores the most points in the 'Ganza is awarded the
Coveted Ostertag Plaque, one of the finest examples of laminated pressboard available and easily the most talked about sports award in my house. The Ostertag Plaque has often been mentioned in the same sentence as the Lombardi Trophy and the Stanley Cup. Especially if you read the previous sentence out loud.

History!

There it is, all number 1's in the final four. Davidson almost wore the slippers, but Kansas was a little too much.

I stand corrected, the Deputy pointed out that he is doing reasonably well, in fact, he is doing much better than I. Dep, my Director hat is off to you. Good job.

We have a week to argue about who will get in the championship, it should be a very entertaining final 4. Enjoy the Ganza and be ready for a special update from the Pooh.

Lovin' the history thing however, I can't believe that Kansas is going to the Final Four. Since joining the Ganza experience I have always choosen Kansas to win it all (this in honor of my brother-in-law). I know this method of choosing the winner is NOT recommended, but I did it anyway. Now, this was the first year that I decided to put an end to the homage and look what happens!!?? The Jayhawks may just take it all. Next year I will go back to my stereotypically 'girly' way of making picks.... what team has a cute player, what colors are better, which teams have the best mascots/cheerleaders.... you get the idea!

yes, teams with the cutest player is always a great way to pick a winner in the Ganza. That's how Pooh bah does it and look where he is. However, the Pooh-bah is the smartest prognosticator I know. Why? Because his humble picks allow the rest of us to have fun. Thank you Pooh-bah, you are the greatest.
